Interpreting the Brief
Celebrating the launch of their newest campaign, Better Health, the NHS have requested that I produce a creative response to one of the themes presented in the Better Health Campaign which appeals to a different audience (16–20-year-olds) to widen their audience participation to promote the campaign to a younger generation. The Better Health campaign was launched to encourage young children to eat better as well as help families maintain a healthy lifestyle for their children and for themselves. The themes that I have to choose from are quit smoking, losing weight and getting active. I also have a choice on what style of promotion we want to do which includes a TV Advert, Radio Advert or advertising or promotional material. I have been advised to choose at least two of these options and to do detailed research on our client to get a better understanding of our client which will also help further promoting the Better Health Campaign. This will help spread valuable information easier and thus make my promotion a success. I will be inspired by some of the NHS' other campaigns such as the Change for Life campaign which holds similar sentiments and goals to the Better Health Campaign.
I will have to overcome time constraints so I will have to make a highly planned schedule to make sure these deadlines are met with reasonable expectations. I will also have to make myself aware of the resources I have and use them to their best capabilities so then I can create a high-quality product which is suitable for the needs of my target audience. In addition, I will have to overcome any technical issues if I were to do a TV or Radio advert so I should make sure to take an optimistic approach to any technical difficulties and handle them as quickly as possible (even if it means changing a certain section or area of my campaign such as a scene in a TV Advert). Finally, I will also make sure I am highly enthusiastic and a great support for my team so then the process of completing the adverts will be more enjoyable which will hopefully make for a better atmosphere in the final product.
